Niaz Muslim Library
📚 Niaz Muslim Library
The Niaz Muslim Library stands as a symbol of compassion, knowledge, and social responsibility within the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah (PSCS). It was inaugurated on Pakistan’s 77th Resolution Day by H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, marking a significant milestone in promoting education and cultural awareness.
This library has been established in loving memory of late Niaz Muslim, a child with Down Syndrome, as part of the Year of Giving 2017 initiative. It reflects a powerful message of inclusion, care, and the importance of supporting individuals with special needs.
Born on 13th November 1950 to Nazira and Abdul Sattar Muslim, Niaz was a special child whose life became a source of inspiration for his family. His journey led to the establishment of a pioneering institute in Pakistan, SCINOSA (Society for Children In Need of Special Attention) in Karachi in 1960. The organization continues to serve over 135 children, providing free vocational and developmental training under dedicated teachers and instructors, helping them become more independent and self-reliant.
Niaz Muslim passed away on 29th April 2009 in Dubai, leaving behind a legacy of love, inspiration, and service to humanity. In his memory, the library and related symposia continue to honor his life and the values he represented.
